Attorney General Jeff Session made a big u-turn over the weekend, changing his mind about appearing before the Senate Intelligence Committee. He had previously recused himself from the investigation, but following Comey’s dramatic testimony last week he has offered to appear before the Committee. Sessions was mentioned in Comey’s statements, which might have led to his change of heart. He will be grilled by the Senate Committee, and one of the key questions he will be probed on is whether there were voice recordings made of the meetings between Trump and Comey.
FINSUM: This is could be another explosive testimony. It seems like this may play to Trump’s favor, but it is hard to know exactly why Sessions changed his mind, and therefore hard to predict what he will say.
